Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system’s mission. This position provides administrative secretarial support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Interacts effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents, and administrators, using tact and good judgment.

 

  1. Performs a variety of duties to support supervisory and administrative personnel in accomplishing daily activities.

 

  1. Composes, creates, edits or transcribes correspondence, e-mails, newsletters, memorandums, and other materials.

 

  1. Maintains files, accurate records, and other important information associated with the position.

 

  1. Answers telephones, responds to inquiries, takes messages, or transfers calls appropriately. Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and directs visitors appropriately.

 

  1. Assists in maintaining efficient office operations by providing secretarial relief whenever and wherever needed.

 

  1. Operates various equipment associated with the department, such as computer, fax machine, copier, as well as equipment developed or advanced from future technology as required by the job.

 

  1. Prepares reports and manages specific programs associated with the position as required.

 

  1. Maintains department schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel; arranges meetings, conferences, and trips for administrators and staff.

 

  1. Prepares documents and packages for mailing, receives, stamps, and distributes mail to appropriate personnel.

 

  1. Prepares purchase orders for materials, resources, and office supplies; monitors expenses.

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned the department head or appropriate supervisor.

  1. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree   (GED) required, associate degree or technical school training preferred.

  1. c) Language Skills: Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals.  Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills: Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.  Must have ability to conduct position related data analysis. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

  1. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.

 

  1. Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies. 

 

  1. Customer Service Skills: Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.

 

Professional Requirements:  Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required. 

 

Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and lift.  Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel.  The employee must be able to exert or lift up to 25 pounds.

 

Work Environment:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent travel involves exposure to traffic and outdoor elements. 

 

Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently working in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system mission.  This position performs accounting duties at assigned location.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

  1. Maintains files, keeps accurate records, and balances ledger sheets necessary for internal audits.

 

  1. Processes purchase orders; reviews check requests for proper documentation, and prepares checks to pay bills; posts ledgers and reconciles monthly and yearly accounts.

 

  1. Receives, counts, records, and deposits all monies collected.

 

  1. Records financial activities regarding allotted funds.

 

  1. Disburses funds, records financial transactions, and balances all assigned fund accounts.

 

  1. Manages and properly documents financial transactions.

 

  1. Tracks and analyzes assigned budgets using budget spreadsheets and financial reports.

 

  1. Performs general bookkeeping, accounting, and clerical duties, to include ordering supplies as needed.

 

  1. Enters applicable budgets and budget amendments.

 

  1. Complies with all federal and state regulations, as well as local Board Policies.

 

  1. Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.
